State Routes 286/404 Corridor Studies Monroe & Wayne Counties, New York SRF & Associates was retained as the traffic sub-consultant for two multi-jurisdictional corridor planning studies focusing on corridor preservation, land-use and access management strategies, and short and long-term transportation improvements. Contracted by the Genesee Transportation Council, our firm developed future travel forecasts and completed all traffic engineering analyses for existing and future conditions. The studies involved a detailed evaluation of 33 key intersections located along two minor arterial highways traversing the Towns of Irondequoit, Penfield, Webster, and Walworth. Alternative geometric and traffic control improvement plans were outlined for all study intersections, including optimized signal timings, signal coordination, new signal installations, additional turn lanes, and intersection lane improvements to augment safety and operational efficiency. Inter-municipal corridor planning studies require significant public involvement to reach consensus among all stakeholders and to assure effective state-local team building.
