West Campus Residential Initiative

SRF & Associates was retained to prepare a traffic study (to be included in the DEIS/FEIS) to evaluate the transportation issues related to a $300M site modification project on the west side of the Cornell Campus. The plan includes reconstruction of the West Campus residence halls and related amenities, and the relocation of existing on-site parking facilities to newly constructed parking facilities at two off-site locations (one surface lot and one garage). The study involved the investigation of the transportation network in and around the site including 21 intersections and several major pedestrian crossings. Existing vehicular flow was established and future conditions projected to assess safety operational and capacity impacts.
