Village of Spencerport East Ave. Extension Project - Spencerport, NY

SRF & Associates was involved in preparing a circulation study to assess the impacts from conversion of East Avenue from one-way to two-way traffic flows, and the extension of East Avenue to Lyell Avenue. Currently, the village is hindered by an existing railroad overpass that limits certain large trucks from using NY Route 259. The thought was to provide an alternate means of access to the core of the village by extending East Avenue through the former grocery store area. Challenges associated with this project involved maintaining the character of the village main street while attempting to provide adequate vehicular access to all users; especially delivery vehicles and larger trucks.
